Abstract

 The integrated Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum is an important need in education in Indonesia in order to build a comprehensive understanding of Islam that is relevant to the challenges of the times. The background of this study is based on the social fact that conventional PAI learning is still separate from general knowledge, so that students' understanding of Islam tends to be fragmentary and less applicable in everyday life. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach and interviews with teachers and education managers to explore the implementation, benefits, challenges, and solutions in implementing the integrative PAI curriculum. The results of the study show that the integrative PAI curriculum is able to improve students' understanding of religion as a whole, form characters based on Islamic values, and encourage attitudes of tolerance and inclusivity. The implementation of this curriculum requires the active role of teachers as facilitators, support from school management, and collaboration between stakeholders. However, there are challenges such as limited resources, teacher readiness, and policy support that need to be overcome through training, strengthening facilities, and learning innovation. The discussion confirms that with the right solution, an integrative PAI curriculum can be the foundation for effective character education, producing a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent, but also morally and spiritually mature.
