The Journal Islamic Religious Education Research (JIRER) is firmly committed to maintaining academic integrity and the quality of all published works. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism refers to the unauthorized use or imitation of another person's work, ideas, or research findings without appropriate acknowledgment. This includes but is not limited to:
- Copying text, figures, or tables from other sources without citation
- Using data, concepts, or theories developed by others without permission or credit
- Paraphrasing or summarizing another’s work without proper referencing
- Presenting previously published work as new or original (self-plagiarism)
Plagiarism Detection and Handling Process
- Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts submitted to JIRER are screened using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin or similar tools).
- Initial Assessment
If potential plagiarism is detected, the editorial team will evaluate the severity of the overlap and determine the appropriate action.
- Author Notification
Authors will be informed of any plagiarism findings and may be asked to revise the manuscript or provide clarification.
- Editorial Decision
Minor plagiarism: Authors must revise the manuscript appropriately before proceeding.
Major plagiarism or repeated offense: The manuscript will be rejected.
Post-publication discovery: The article may be retracted, and the author’s institution may be notified.
Prevention and Author Responsibility
Authors are expected to:
- Adhere to academic and ethical writing practices
- Properly cite all sources and provide accurate references
- Avoid all forms of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism and uncredited paraphrasing
