PEMBERDAYAAN PENDIDIKAN ANAK MELALUI PROGRAM BIMBINGAN BELAJAR GRATIS “KELAS INSPIRASI SAMASTA” DI DESA KALISUREN, KECAMATAN TAJURHALANG, KABUPATEN BOGOR

Abstract

Access to quality basic education remains a challenge for many children in rural areas of Indonesia, particularly in reading, numeracy, and completing schoolwork independently. This community service article describes the implementation of “Kelas Inspirasi Samasta”, a free tutoring (bimbingan belajar) program organized by students of Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Kelompok 5 Samasta, IAI-Nasional Laa Roiba Bogor, in RW 10, Desa Kalisuren, Kecamatan Tajurhalang, Kabupaten Bogor. The program targeted 28 children ranging from kindergarten to sixth grade and was held four days a week (Monday–Thursday) throughout August 2026 at the KKN post. Activities included letter and number recognition and simple coding for kindergarten pupils, and reading, numeracy, homework assistance, and basic mathematics (fractions, multiplication, and division) for elementary pupils, combined with ice breaking to sustain motivation. A qualitative descriptive method was used, comprising preparation, direct assistance, and simple evaluation through question-and-answer sessions. The results show increased participation, learning motivation, and comprehension among the children, along with a very positive community response, reflected in high attendance and enthusiasm, including children arriving earlier than scheduled. The program demonstrates that student-led, low-cost tutoring interventions can meaningfully support children's foundational literacy and numeracy while strengthening the community-empowerment role of KKN.
