Abstract

Problem. Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Karang Indah Village, Merauke Regency, still face challenges in business management, particularly in management, financial record-keeping, and the use of digital technology. Most entrepreneurs have not implemented systematic bookkeeping, still mix personal and business finances, and have not optimally utilized digital applications and technology-based marketing media, thus hampering business competitiveness.

Community Service Objectives. This Community Service activity aims to increase the capacity of MSMEs to manage their businesses professionally through digitalization of business management, the implementation of application-based bookkeeping, and the use of digital technology to improve business competitiveness and sustainability.

Methods. The activity was implemented using a participatory, mentoring-based approach that included identifying needs through observation and interviews, outreach and education on business management and financial literacy, training on the use of digital bookkeeping applications, practical training in preparing simple financial reports, and mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation of the implementation of training outcomes. Evaluation was conducted by comparing the participants' conditions before and after the activity based on increased knowledge, skills, and abilities in managing digital-based businesses.

Findings/Results. The activity results demonstrated an increase in MSMEs' understanding of business management, their ability to prepare app-based bookkeeping, and the use of digital technology for business administration and marketing. Participants began implementing regular transaction recording, separating personal and business finances, and using financial information as a basis for business decision-making. The mentoring also increased the use of digital media in product promotion, thereby expanding market opportunities. These findings demonstrate that the digital-based mentoring model is effective in strengthening business governance, increasing competitiveness, and supporting the sustainability of MSMEs in Karang Indah Village, Merauke Regency.
