Abstract

Parental involvement in school activities is a strategic step toward building an integrative and sustainable educational ecosystem. This study aims to analyze the “deep partnership” model between schools and parents using the Framework of Six Types of Involvement developed by Joyce Epstein as the primary analytical framework. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. To ensure data validity, data triangulation was performed involving the vice principal, teachers, and parent representatives as informants, which was subsequently analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model. This study investigates six flagship parent-school collaboration programs: (1) the Observation-Based Student Admission System; (2) the Smart Parent Program; (3) the Parents’ Day Program (Parents Teach); (4) the SAMBA Program (Saturday-Sunday Storytelling); (5) the Father-Child Camping Program; and (6) the Student-Led Conference (SLC) Program.  The research findings indicate that SDIT Insan Permata Malang has successfully institutionalized consistent and structured parental involvement and transformed the school’s governance from a managerial system to a participatory-ecological system.
