Peer Review Process

Al-Furqon: Journal of Islamic Economics, Management and Finance

Al-Furqon: Journal of Islamic Economics, Management and Finance implements a rigorous and transparent peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of all published articles. The review process follows a double-blind peer review system, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.

1. Initial Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system. The manuscript must comply with the journal’s guidelines, including formatting, citation style, and scope relevance.

2. Editorial Screening

The Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor conducts an initial evaluation to ensure that:

  • The manuscript fits the journal’s focus and scope
  • The content demonstrates academic relevance and originality
  • The manuscript adheres to ethical standards (including plagiarism screening)

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria will be rejected without further review.

3. Plagiarism Check

All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding the acceptable threshold will be returned to the authors or rejected.

4. Double-Blind Peer Review

Eligible manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The reviewers assess the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and contribution to knowledge
  • Methodological rigor
  • Theoretical framework
  • Clarity and coherence of argument
  • Relevance to Islamic economics, management, and finance

5. Review Decision

Based on reviewers’ reports, the editor makes one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions required)
  • Reject

6. Revision Stage

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version along with a response to reviewers. The revised manuscript may be sent back to reviewers for further evaluation.

7. Final Decision

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision on the manuscript based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the quality of revisions.

8. Copyediting and Proofreading

Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, language editing, and formatting to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to journal standards.

9. Publication

The final version of the manuscript is published online and becomes accessible to readers. The journal ensures timely publication while maintaining high academic standards.
