This community service program aims to strengthen the Arabic language literacy of santri through a communicative-based learning program at TPQ Fathul Mubarok Plus Tahfidz, Krandegan Hamlet, Kedungmlati Village, Kesamben District, Jombang Regency. The program was motivated by the need to complement religious learning and Qur’anic memorization with practical Arabic literacy, especially vocabulary recognition, listening, speaking, reading, and simple writing. The activity used a participatory mentoring approach in which tutors, santri, and the TPQ management were involved in identifying learning needs, preparing materials, implementing communicative activities, and reflecting on the learning process. The learning sequence consisted of introduction and diagnostic observation, vocabulary enrichment , contextual dialogue , role play, guided reading, simple writing, and formative reflection. The results, described qualitatively from observations, discussions, practice performance, and documentation, indicate positive changes in santri participation, confidence in using simple Arabic expressions, vocabulary recall, and willingness to interact using Arabic in learning situations. The communicative model also helped shift learning from memorization-oriented activities toward meaningful language use. The program demonstrates that contextual, participatory, and repetitive communicative practice can be integrated into a non-formal Qur’anic education setting. Sustainability requires routine Arabic expressions, teacher mentoring, simple learning media, and periodic evaluation of four language skills.
