Abstract

The low learning interest of students in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is an important issue related to the teaching methods implemented by teachers. Learning interest plays a significant role in determining students' involvement in the learning process; therefore, appropriate teaching methods are needed to increase students' attention and participation. This study aims to describe the relationship between PAI teaching methods and students' learning interest at MTs At-Taqwa Bondowoso in the 2025–2026 academic year. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data sources were obtained from PAI teachers, students, and supporting documents related to the learning process. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis involved data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the use of varied, interactive, and student-oriented teaching methods can enhance students' learning interest in PAI subjects. Students demonstrated greater enthusiasm, participation, and attention during the learning process. Therefore, PAI teaching methods play an important role in fostering and improving students' learning interest at MTs At-Taqwa Bondowoso.
