Student Management Based on Panca Kesadaran Santri in Ma And SMA Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo

Abstract

This study aims to describe in depth the implementation of student management based on the Five Awarenesses of Santri in MA and SMA Nurul Jadid, Probolinggo, which includes planning, implementation, and institutional evaluation and reflection. The Five Awarenesses of Santri consist of five main dimensions: religious awareness, knowledge, community, nation and state, and organization, which are used as a framework of values in fostering the character of santri. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model. The results of the study indicate that student management based on the Five Awarenesses of Santri is implemented in an integrated manner between the school, Islamic boarding school care, and santri organizations. The implementation of values is carried out through habituation, role models, and programmed activities that support the internalization of values as a whole. Institutional evaluations are carried out periodically and involve all education stakeholders, emphasizing aspects of changes in student behavior and attitudes as the main indicators of success. Although the program is quite effective, there are a number of challenges, such as disparities in the background of students, limited mentors, and the need to strengthen individual coaching. These findings recommend that value-based management typical of Islamic boarding schools can be used as a model for strengthening character in Islamic education, as long as its implementation is carried out collaboratively and consistently. This model contributes to forming students who have integrity, are religious, and have high social awareness.
