Implementation of Management Information Systems as a Pillar of Digital Transformation in the Society 5.0 Era

The development of digital technology has pushed organizations to implement management information systems (MIS) as an effort to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and the quality of decision-making. However, implementing MIS in the digital era still faces various challenges that can affect its success. This study aims to analyze the challenges in implementing management information systems in the digital era, identify factors that influence the success of MIS implementation, and analyze strategies that can be applied to overcome these challenges. This research uses a literature review method by examining various books and scientific articles relevant to management information systems and digital transformation. The study results show that the main challenges in implementing MIS include limitations in technology infrastructure, low human resource competence, resistance to change, information security, and funding constraints. Implementing MIS requires collaboration between technology, people, and organizational aspects to work effectively.
