Islam Rahmatan Lil ‘Ālamin: Lokalitas Penafsiran Q.S. Al-Anbiya ayat 107 dalam Tafsir Al-Azhar

Human life basically needs a system of rules in their daily lives. Religion exists as a system of rules or values that bind to a belief or belief. Today's life, human beings are very diverse, of course, with diverse religions. One of the religions in society is Islam. In Islam, the mention of Islam Rahmatan lil 'ālamin is familiar. There are many understandings to interpret the meaning of Islam Rahmatan lil 'ālamin. Therefore, this article will open up a little insight into the meaning of Islam Rahmatan lil 'ālamin which is taken from Q.S. al-Anbiya verse 107 in Tafsir Al-Azhar by Buya Hamka. This research is a type of library research that focuses on tracing data literature that is still related to this research. The theory that will be used in this research is Gadamer's Hermeneutics. Buya Hamka in interpreting Q.S. al-Anbiya verse 107, is the treatise brought by the Prophet Muhammad Saw, as a mercy for his people. Not only as a people who live in tribes, but as a civilisation nation that is a blessing for all nature. In another case, the use of Gadamer's Hermeneutics theory in this study is to find out the locality of the interpretation of Q.S. al-Anbiya verse 107 in Tafsir Al-Azhar. With four main theories of Gadamer's hermeneutics, it can be concluded as follows: First, Buya Hamka's interpretation is influenced by history, as evidenced by the historical events included in his interpretation. Second, Buya Hamka's interpretation is influenced by pre-understanding because it is formed from the social and Islamic conditions of Minangkabau which are still mixed with its customs and culture. Third, through the use of elements of locality, Buya Hamka combines the horizon of the text with the horizon of the author. Fourth, Buya Hamka's interpretation by applying locality through terms, historical elements, life experiences, and others.
