Living Qur’an di Kota Tegal ( DalamTradisi Grebegan Masyarakat Kota Tegal )

Abstract

This study aims to explore the process of internalizing Qur'anic values within the Grebegan tradition that has developed in the community of Tegal City. The Grebegan tradition is one of the manifestations of the Living Qur'an, which refers to religious practices that reflect the reception and relationship of Muslim communities with the sacred text of the Qur’an in their daily lives. The method used is a qualitative approach through field studies, participant observation, and in-depth interviews. The collected data is then analyzed using descriptive-analytical techniques to uncover the meanings and Qur'anic values embedded in the Grebegan tradition, as well as the processes of internalization and transmission of these values in community practices. The findings show that the Grebegan tradition in Tegal City embodies Qur'anic values such as brotherhood (ukhuwwah), social solidarity, gratitude (syukuran), and concern for others. This research contributes to enriching the body of Living Qur'an studies, particularly in the context of local traditions among Indonesian Muslim communities. These findings may serve as a reference for further studies on the reception of the Qur’an in cultural and religious practices across various regions.
