Antara Tradisi Dan Modernitas: Evaluasi Serta Refleksi Pemikiran Hadis Kontemporer

The study of hadith in the contemporary era faces tensions between the classical tradition, which emphasizes the authenticity of sanad and matn, and modernity, which demands social relevance and contextual interpretation. This research aims to evaluate and reflect on contemporary hadith thought in bridging these two poles. The research method employed is qualitative with a library research approach, drawing data from classical hadith collections and contemporary works on hadith studies. The findings show that tradition provides legitimacy and scholarly authority, while modernity offers critical perspectives that enrich hadith understanding. The evaluation highlights a meeting point in the reconstructive approach, which balances textuality and contextuality, while also revealing problems in the sharp dichotomy between traditionalist and modernist perspectives. The novelty of this study lies in its reflective-integrative approach, combining classical criticism methodology with modern contextual analysis so that hadith studies remain both authentic and relevant. The implication of this research is to open opportunities for developing a more dynamic, adaptive, and inclusive methodology for hadith studies in the global era.
