Abstract

The rapid growth of social media has significantly transformed the way people access Islamic knowledge, including Islamic educational content. Various digital platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter) have become major channels for the rapid dissemination of hadiths and religious messages. However, this convenience has also been accompanied by the widespread circulation of hadiths with unclear sources, weak (da'if) narrations, and even fabricated (mawdu') traditions. This phenomenon highlights the urgent need for hadith literacy, particularly in understanding the principles of hadith authenticity (qawāʿid ṣiḥḥat al-ḥadīth) within the context of hadith tarbawi (educational hadith) as a framework for filtering Islamic educational content circulating on social media. This article examines the concept of hadith tarbawi, the principles of hadith authenticity, the challenges posed by the dissemination of Islamic educational content on social media, and the implementation of these authenticity principles as a mechanism for filtering religious information in the digital era.
