PANCAJIWA PESANTREN DALAM TRANSFORMASI DIGITAL PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DI PONDOK PESANTREN ASSALAM BANGILAN TUBAN

Abstract

Digital transformation in Islamic educational institutions often creates a dichotomy between technological modernization and the erosion of traditional boarding school values. This study aims to analyze the internalization of Pancajiwa values (sincerity, simplicity, self-reliance, Islamic brotherhood, and freedom) as an ethical framework in the digital transformation of Islamic religious education at Pondok Pesantren Assalam Bangilan Tuban. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies involving leaders, educators, and students. The findings reveal that the digitalization of learning systems and institutional management does not obscure the cultural identity of the institution; instead, it is adaptively controlled by Pancajiwa values. The principles of sincerity and simplicity protect the academic community's orientation from digital materialism; self-reliance stimulates self-supported technological infrastructure innovation; while Islamic brotherhood and responsible freedom strengthen virtual collaboration and students' digital literacy. These findings conclude that Pancajiwa effectively serves as both an ethical filter and an accelerator for character-based modernization in Islamic education.
