Rekonstruksi Pengalaman Emosional-Spiritual Santri Putri dalam Memahami Hukum Haid di Pesantren Salafiyah

Abstract

Understanding the jurisprudence of menstruation is an essential aspect of learning fiqh for women because it is directly related to the validity of religious worship. However, some female students still experience confusion, embarrassment, fear, and anxiety when learning the rulings on menstruation, which may affect their daily worship practices. This study aims to reconstruct the emotional and spiritual experiences of female students in understanding the jurisprudence of menstruation at Pondok Pesantren Putri Salafiyah Keboncandi, Gondangwetan, Pasuruan. It also examines the students’ understanding of menstruation rulings and identifies the factors that support and hinder the learning process. This research employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings indicate that the students’ emotional experiences developed from feelings of embarrassment, fear, confusion, and anxiety into greater calmness, self-confidence, and emotional regulation after participating in menstruation jurisprudence learning at the Islamic boarding school. Their spiritual experiences also developed through increased awareness of maintaining ritual purity, accepting menstruation as Allah’s decree, and strengthening their commitment to performing worship in accordance with Islamic teachings. Supporting factors included the role of female teachers (ustazah), the Islamic boarding school environment, peer support, and the use of menstrual record books, while inhibiting factors consisted of limited prior knowledge, reluctance to ask questions, and emotional barriers. From the perspective of the Emotional Spiritual Quotient (ESQ), emotional and spiritual experiences are interconnected in shaping a more comprehensive understanding of menstruation jurisprudence among female students.
