PERAN SISTEM INFORMASI MANAJEMEN DALAM MENINGKATKAN MUTU MANAJEMEN PENDIDIKAN

Abstract

The development of information technology requires educational institutions to be able to manage data and information effectively to improve the quality of educational governance. This research is motivated by the importance of implementing Management Information Systems (MIS) as a supporting instrument in decision-making and improving the quality of educational management. This research focuses on how the concept and application of Management Information Systems in educational management, how Management Information Systems play a role in improving the quality of educational management, and what are the supporting factors and obstacles in implementing Management Information Systems to improve the quality of educational management. The method used in this research is the literature study method (library research) with a qualitative descriptive approach through a review of various literature such as books, scientific journals, and relevant academic sources. The results of the study indicate that the Management Information System is an integrated system that connects humans, technology, procedures, and databases to produce accurate, relevant, and timely information to support the educational management process. The implementation of MIS has an important role in increasing the effectiveness of educational management functions, from planning, organizing, implementing, to monitoring, because it is able to provide information that supports fast and accurate decision-making. The success of MIS implementation is influenced by the readiness of human resources, the availability of technological infrastructure, and the support of institutional leaders, while obstacles include limited digital capabilities, system development costs, and obstacles in the technology adaptation process.
