Revitalisasi Tradisi Keilmuan sebagai Upaya Membangun Peradaban Islam di Era Modern

Scientific tradition has been a fundamental pillar in the development of Islamic civilization, contributing significantly to the advancement of global knowledge and intellectual progress. During its golden age, Islamic civilization produced prominent scholars and monumental works that greatly influenced various fields of science. However, over time, the Islamic scientific tradition experienced a decline, characterized by a weakening literacy culture, reduced research activities, and the emergence of a dichotomy between religious and secular sciences. These challenges have become increasingly complex in the modern era due to globalization, digitalization, and the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This study aims to analyze the role of scientific tradition as the foundation of Islamic civilization, identify the challenges faced by Islamic scientific tradition in the modern era, and examine efforts to revitalize it in order to rebuild Islamic civilization. This research employs a library research method by reviewing relevant scholarly journals, books, and academic literature. The findings indicate that scientific tradition plays a crucial role in shaping the progress of Islamic civilization, while its decline has weakened the competitiveness of Muslim societies in various fields. Therefore, revitalizing scientific tradition through strengthening literacy culture, enhancing research activities, integrating religious and scientific knowledge, and utilizing digital technology is a strategic effort to build a progressive and adaptive Islamic civilization in the contemporary era.
