ANALISIS HUKUM ADAT PENGGUNAAN MAYAM DALAM PERNIKAHAN ADAT ACEH : SIMBOL KASIH SAYANG DALAM PERSPEKTIF FIQH MUNAKAHAT

Acehnese marriage has its own unique characteristics, reflected in the use of mayam as a dowry. Mayam not only has economic value but also carries social significance and is a symbol of affection between the bride and groom. This study aims to analyze the practice of using mayam in Acehnese traditional weddings from the perspective of customary law and fiqh munakahat. The method used in this study is library research, which involves studying and reviewing various relevant literature sources, such as books, articles, journals, and other relevant information. The results indicate that traditionally, mayam symbolizes the respect and responsibility of the prospective husband to his wife and family. From the perspective of fiqh munakahat, mayam fulfills the requirements of Islamic law regarding dowry, which is something given willingly and has beneficial value. Thus, the use of mayam does not conflict with Islamic law and even strengthens the values of affection, respect, and sincerity in marriage. This tradition reflects the harmony between customary law and Islamic law in Acehnese society.
