Pengaruh Pendidikan Kesehatan Menggunakan Media Leaflet Berbahasa Madura Terhadap Pengetahuan, Sikap Dan Tindakan Pengobatan Pada Klien Kusta Di Kabupaten Situbondo

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of educational media in the form of Madurese-language leaflets in improving the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of leprosy patients in Situbondo Regency. The main issue addressed is the low level of understanding and adherence to multidrug therapy (MDT) treatment among patients, which hampers efforts to eliminate leprosy. A pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach was applied. The sample consisted of 42 leprosy patients selected using a total sampling technique. A structured questionnaire was employed to measure knowledge, attitudes, and practices before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to examine differences between pretest and posttest scores. The results showed significant improvements across all three variables following the intervention. The mean score for knowledge increased from 65 to 82 (p=0.000), attitudes from 60 to 78 (p=0.000), and practices from 58 to 80 (p=0.000). These findings confirm that local language-based educational media are effective in delivering health information, changing patients’ perceptions of treatment, and enhancing adherence to MDT and self-care practices.
